Support Your Local Radio Station
WWCD Radio
Participate in a listener-funded advertising campaign to support the ongoing efforts of legendary WWCD Radio to stay on the air and remain a valuable member of the Central Ohio community.
This campaign consists of a series of paid radio spots publicly supporting WWCD Radio and recognizing fans and supporters of the station. Each radio spot will voice support for the station and name up to three campaign participants (in equal rotation) for the duration of the radio spot schedule. You can participate by supporting the campaign in increments of $25.
The payment covers the cost of a single 15-second radio spot broadcast thru the web stream at wwcdradio.com. Participants can choose to remain anonymous or be identified by name within the spot, publicly proclaiming themselves as a supporter of the station and part of the effort to keep WWCD live and local.Supported naming conventions include:
First and Last Name (Olivia Frabel)
First Name and Community (Robby from Circleville)
First Name at Business Name (Mark at Tasty Dawg)
How this co-op support campaign works:
Participating supporters will be grouped in sets of three (3) to have their names featured alongside each other in a combined schedule of radio spots. At minimum this means each person pays for a single spot, but will be named in up to three spots as part of the group nature of this campaign.Example:
Olivia Frabel pays $25 to be featured in a single spot
Robby from Circleville pays $25 to be featured in a single spot
Mark at Tasty Dawg pays $25 to be featured in a single spot
These individuals are grouped into a set of three and are featured as a set of supporters named in three total radio spots that would read something like this:KEEP THE INDEPENDENT SPIRIT ALIVE AND JOIN LISTENERS LIKE OLIVIA FRABEL, ROBBY FROM CIRCLEVILLE, AND MARK AT TASTY DAWG IN SUPPORTING THE ADVERTISERS MAKING LOCAL PROGRAMMING POSSIBLE. WWCD RADIO DOT COM.
IT’S THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE.Revenue generated from this effort is paid to WWCD Radio in exchange for the purchase of the radio spots aired as part of the campaign. A small percentage of the spot rate is retained to cover payment processing fees and general administrative costs in maintaining the radio contracts and account maintenance. It's basically as if the radio station was paying a commission to a WWCD salesperson. This project was envisioned and created by a fan and former full-time employee of the station, Don Holliday.
While the project is not directly affiliated with WWCD, the project was reviewed and approved by station ownership prior to launch. Most paid radio schedules receive additional bonus spots that air during overnights and weekends to help extend the reach and frequency of their message. It is likely our grassroots support campaign of paid spots will also receive this benefit from the radio station (but this is not guaranteed until the final contract is in place.) WWCD has agreed to run all spots during their most popular hours of listenership.
Join the cause and support your favorite local station by purchasing one or more spots in your name below (or buy a spot and gift it to a friend!)
Once your order is received it will be grouped with other participants and a professional radio spot will be produced. Recordings of the finished radio spots will be posted online for everyone to hear and to share in social media.
